Det här är en intim liten två-mans musikal.
Vi får följa paret Agnes och Michael Snow under 50 år, från 1895 till 1945.
Allt utspelar sig i deras sovrum och scenen domineras av en stor himmelsäng.
Vi får följa dem från bröllopsnatten fram till den dag de bestämmer sig för att flytta till en mindre bostad.
Bland de händelser vi får vara med om finns födseln av deras barn, Michaels framgångar som författare, ett utomäktenskapligt förhållande, ett gräl som nästan leder till skillsmässa och dotterns bröllop.
Det här är en liten charmig historia. Och en härlig utmaning för två skådespelare.
I den version jag lyssnat på så är det bara ett piano som ackompanjerar paret och det känns otroligt passande.
Sångerna är inte tidstypiska och de använder inte olika musikstilar för att markera tidens gång utan det är en samling Broadwaymelodier av det mer generella slaget. Det är en ganska så trevlig samling sånger utan att innehålla nått nummer som riktigt sticker ut.
Både Karen Ziemba och David Garrison levererar otroligt bra sånginsatser vilket gör den här plattan väldigt njutbar.

Robert Preston vann en Tony 1967 som bästa manliga skådespelare i en musikal.
En tv-version av föreställningen gjordes 1982 med Lee Remick och Hal Linden i de två rollerna.
Filmstjärnan Rock Hudson spelade mot Carol Burnett i en nationell turnéversion som gick 1973/74.
Det fanns planer på att göra en filmversion 1969. I den skulle stjärnorna från filmen Mary Poppins, Julie Andrews och Dick Van Dyke, återförenas. Men på grund av att klimatet för filmmusikaler inte var det bästa just då så la man ner projektet.

The stars, they’re great. What about the material?
